The Review

San Diego Bebe Pillow is also known as San Diego Bebe Pillow for One Baby or San Diego Bebe Single Deluxe Pillow.

What distinguishes this pillow from many other nursing pillows on the market is what’s inside it. All Double Blessings pillows are made of eco-friendly fiber instead of the widely-used polyurethane foam.

Polyurethane foam is flammable and requires special chemical treatment to be safely used for making baby products and supplies. Double Blessings nursing pillows are made of synthetic fiber instead. Fiber is not flammable and no chemical treatment is required.

Pillow top surface is angled to make edges slightly elevated to securely position the baby tilted towards your breast.

If you need more room for your post-pregnancy belly or need to take the weight of the pillow off of your c-section area, turn the pillow upside down, so that the angled side is at the bottom.

You can also turn the cover upside down to be able to use the pocket and the privacy cover. If you use the pillow in this position, your baby will be placed on the even side of the pillow, and may need extra support to stay steady.

● comfort bolster

Comfort Bolster goes along the front part of the pillow and the sides and is designed to keep the baby in place during nursing. It provides extra support and security in case you need to reach for something while the baby is on the pillow.

Dimensions: W10in/D7.75in/H3.5in or W25cm/D20cm/H9cm.

Detach back pillow from the main pillow to use it as back support.

Attach back pillow to the main pillow using a small Velcro for storage and transportation.

Unlike some pillows that have a back panel that the back support pillow attaches to, Double Blessings has no such panel. Back pillow is flexible and may be placed anywhere behind your back.

You may think that, due to this flexibility, the back pillow may slide up and down or shift from the position you place it in. My testing showed that it is not an issue: plush cover sticks to most surfaces and helps keep the pillow steady.

You can also place back support pillow inside the adjustable strap to help it stay in place.

With detached back support pillow, main pillow can be later used to support your baby in a sitting position.

Double Blessings San Diego Bebe Pillow covers are soft plush and come in a variety of beautiful colors for moms of style. My favorite - turquoise - is the one in the pictures. Check out all available colors here.

Covers for both main and back support pillows can be easily taken off to be washed. 

Both covers are fastened with a Velcro. San Diego Bebe Pillow has no zippers, so there is no lead concern.

● privacy cover

Privacy cover is a very neat feature. It provides comfort and convenience for nursing in public. It has a strap that goes around mom's neck. If the strap is too long for you, you can easily adjust it.

If not used, the cover may be either detached (it holds on a Velcro), or hidden in the pocket specially designed for it.

The cover is not solid, it is made of lightweight mesh. This is necessary to allow for ventilation, but it also makes the cover somewhat see-through.

You can't really see anything but the silhouette through it (see picture below). But if that makes you uncomfortable, look for low-traffic areas to breastfeed your baby.

● 3 pockets

There are two bottle-holders on one side of the pillow and one actual pocket on the other side.

● buckle strap

According to the manufacturer, the buckle strap that is fastened around the waist is adjustable to the max of 52in. My measurements came closer to 56in, so the strap should fit larger-size moms and babies too.

Unlike some other pillows, Double Blessings San Diego Bebe Pillow has a buckle strap, not a Velcro. It allows for secure fastening and noise-free opening. This feature comes in especially handy if the baby falls asleep at the breast and you need to move him to the crib.
